Early this morning i went to my physical therapy session. I was amazed to see so many people there.
I enjoy talking to the other patients. We compare procedures, our pain levels, do we think the therapy is helping and who we know from their neck of the woods. It makes the ordeal more bearable.
Some of the patients are older folks who are recovering from heart attacks and strokes. I met a man who lost part of his leg to cancer and is learning to live with a prosthesis.
I am touched by their acceptance and by the courage they display. I am inspired by their ability to go ahead and make the best of what life has handed them.
It's hard to feel sorry for yourself when you are looking at folks who are worse off than you!
