Good Monday morning! The sun is shining so brightly you'd almost think it's a spring day. Until you walk outside that is!
My husband came home from work sick Friday evening. I spent most of the evening and Saturday taking care of him. He seemed better by Sunday but he still has coughing spells. I'm encouraging him to go to the doctor but he really doesn't want to.
I did get to do some decorating for Thanksgiving yesterday. I had some silk flowers I had gotten a while back so I made a fall arrangement. It's rather tall so I set it to one side of the fireplace in the living room. I love the reds and yellows of autumn. I will try to post a picture but I'm new to blogging so we'll have to see what happens there.
I also made some cookies yesterday.
Today I will do my Monday morning house blessing. Then I'll continue to work on making some Christmas gifts.
Since we formally give thanks in November I thought it might be nice to list three(3) things I'm grateful for daily. Today I'm grateful for bright sunshine, a good husband and hot tea.

I visited Coffee Tea Books and Me this morning. Brenda talks about favorite books. she likes to revisit. So I thought I would list some of mine as well.

5 Non Fiction books I Reread:

More Hours in My Day by Emilie Barnes
The Tightwad Gazette By Amy Dacyczyn
Frugal Luxuries by Tracy McBride
What Happens When Women Care by Emilie Barnes
In the Kitchen with Heloise

5 Fiction Books I read over and over:

Little Women by Louisa Mae Alcott
The Mitford Series by Jan Karon
The Love Comes Softly Series by Janette Oakes
The Grapes of Wrath By John Steinbeck
This Present Darkness By Frank Peretti

I hope anyone reading this blog will give these books a try. I don't think you will be disappointed.

Hello,

I stumbled onto your lovely blog this evening and noticed that you listed one of my books as a favorite non-fiction read and wanted to say thank you very much for the good words.

I also couldn't help but notice that you also listed my very favorite fiction books as well! "Little Women" and Jan Karon's "Mitford" book series are wonderful books that I consider to be like beloved friends--I re-read them again and again and find them especially pleasant, comforting and uplifting when things feel harsh in the real world.

Many good thoughts to you and thanks again for the nice mention.

Warmly,
Tracey McBride
