Weekly Wrap-up

I found a great blog called "Getting Ahead". Every Friday Jen hosts the weekly wrap up where she lists all the things she's done to save money in the past week. I thought it would be fun to join in.

So here goes. This is what we did to save money and resources this week:

Shopped from a list: used coupons and paid attention to sales
Cooked all meals from scratch
Used leftovers creatively
DH packed his lunch all week
Hung two loads of laundry
Combined errands so I only had to drive to town once the day my PT was scheduled
Purchased meds on the $4 prescription plan rather than using my medical insurance $16 saving per prescription for a total of $32.
Visited the library instead of buying paperbacks
Worked on decluttering my office so I won't be buying supplies I don't need
Recycled newspapers, aluminum, metal cans and plastic.

As you can see we really did nothing spectacular but I believe every little bit helps.
Our goal is for my husband to retire in 5 years and for myself in eight to ten years. We are trying to become debt free this year and save aggressively for our retirement.
